How to obtain non-reciprocal links

  • Develop depth of content worthy of incoming links. Keep adding about one webpage per week.
  • Search for Sites to “Add URL.” Search using two phrases in quotation marks: “Suggest link” +”keyword”.
  • Write a “Give Away” Article. Write articles such as “How to Improve Your Walk.” Design it carefully — from the title, description meta tag, headings, body text, hyperlinked keywords, and links to my main site — so that it will be clearly indexed for the key-phrases “improve your walk”

How to be Successful

THERE IS A GOOD SIDE TO EVERY SITUATION

An optimist sees the opportunity in every calamity.
A pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.
The optimist sees the doughnut, the pessimist the hole.
To find success become an optimist.

Learn to develop success from any failure.
Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.
No elements can do so much for you if you are willing to study them and make them work for you.

View every problem you have as an opportunity.
Everything depends on the way you look at things.

KISS your SEO

Some of you know me for using advance SEO techniques, such as cloaking or deep directory submissions, and developing new ideas, such as experimenting with cascading style sheets and absolute positioning. Everyone is trying to get some sort of advantage in order to get those coveted high rankings, analyzing the search engines and the top pages trying to figure out what got them to the top.

I’ve been thinking that perhaps some SEO experts, including me, have been over-analyzing everything, trying to come up with some sort of technique, trick, or magic formula that will take them straight to the top of search engines. I’ve been thinking that maybe sticking to the basics might be the ticket to the top of the mountain.

You may not even need to optimize your Web site for search engines. You can still get good rankings by just creating good content. Analyzing the competition takes a lot of time and effort. If you Keep It Simple & Silly (KISS) — you can use that time to develop better content, a better overall Web site for your visitors, and take some time out to enjoy life. Who knows, perhaps using the KISS principle will even make your pages immune to the dreaded algorithm change!

Until next time, remember to KISS your SEO!

Hits are Irrelevant

A common myth these days revolves around the usage of the term “Hits” This term “Hits” is often used synonymously with “Visitors” It is extremely important to understand that a hit is not a visitor. A hit is basically triggered as any action from the server. In other words, it might be 1 hit for a page to load. Another hit for a logo to load. Perhaps a menu cluster of 10 buttons (10 graphics) could render 10 more hits. In short, just one visitor could generate multiple hits for each page they view. When you are examining traffic overall, your #1 concern should be with your “visitor count,” sometimes identified as “user sessions.” Focus should not be on the “hit count.” Our attention should always be on actual visitors.

Risk

ACCEPT RISK AS A NORMAL PART OF LIVING.

Taking risks is a necessity if you want to find success.
View risk as part of the process of exploring your world.
Always take note of its lessons and move on.
The difference between greatness and mediocrity is how often you take risks.

Forget about the consequences of risk taking.
Risk opens you to a temporary change in direction that can set you straight for your next success.

If you’re big enough to risk, to live temporarily outside your comfort zone, you’re big enough to win.

Use Your Imagination

Your mind is your mental workshop.
You can build anything you want in it.
Visualize what you want.
See it, feel it, believe in it.

Make your mental blue print, and then begin construction.
See things as you would have them be instead of as they are.

Use your imagination to perceive your new reality
even when it is not fully materialized.
Remember, you must first clearly see a thing in your mind before you can do it.

Your imagination will show you how to turn possibility into reality.
The beginning of your success is in your imagination.
First think, then organize your thoughts into plans.
Then transform your thoughts into reality by taking some positive action.

See the things you want as already yours.
Think of them as yours, as belonging to you, as already in your possession.
Picture yourself as having already achieved your goal.

Dreams and ideas can cross continents and oceans.
They go anywhere you can go.
What you see is what you get.

Food for Thought

Red AppleThe paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less willingness.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life; we’ve added years to life, not life to years.

We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We’ve conquered outer space, but not inner space; We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul; We’ve split the atom, but not our prejudice; We have higher incomes, but lower morals; We’ve become long on quantity, but short on quality. These are the times of tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships.

These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition. These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.

It is a time when there is much in the show window and nothing in the stockroom; a time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to make a difference, or to just hit delete…

Reason

The Purpose of education is to teach a person to reason. Education itself provides only knowledge.

That’s important, but it’s not the key to everything. Knowledge must be applied. The manner in which we apply wisdom and knowledge is called reason. Without the ability to reason, all other things become valueless. We have never sufficiently emphasized the real value of being able to reason and think as compared with the ability to study and remember what we read.
The ability to reason and think explains why some men and women without much formal education manage to achieve places of importance and leadership in the world.

Law-Abiding Citizen

I am an American citizen. I am a taxpayer. I am a voter. I am a summoned juror. Consider the consequences of hatred in our society, in our communities. Bigots can never take my basic human rights away, nor can the prejudiced among us deny me my humanity. Consider the consequences of hatred in our society, in our communities.

I will continue to struggle to keep my legal rights.

I will continue to believe in a just and loving God, who, according to the faith in which I was raised, taught, discipled and have served, loved us all so much that much was sacrificed to maintain relationships.

I value my relationship; nobody else has the right to interfere. The government does not belong in the private relationships of its citizens. The government has no business discriminating between its law-abiding citizens.

Out Run

EVERY MORNING in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than a lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must out run the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle — when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.

Mind

YOU CAN MAKE no greater investment than an investment into your own mind. You can’t expect to withdraw wisdom and information if you don’t make any deposits into your mind bank. Start each day thinking, and your mind will continue to think all day. Make the effort. As the scientists have told us, we need to put effort into our mental as well as our physical fitness. That might involve change. Most people are afraid of change; they want to stay with what makes them feel comfortable and secure. But that security may only be an illusion.

For instance, many people today claim they have been “victims” of the bad economy. However, many of these people are “victims” of their own refusal to change tactics in a changing economy. People are doing the same things they’ve always done, despite the fact that the environment has changed. The customer’s needs have changed, but the company has not changed or adapted. Everyone assumes that what was successful in the past is going to work now.

Companies think that way about their business, and individuals think that way about their lives. What they fail to see is that change and risk help us grow. When we stop thinking about what helps us grow, when we stop looking for new ideas or new information, we don’t just stay still — we move backwards.

Tap into your own brain power. Set ambitious goals for yourself, and figure out step-by-step ways to achieve them. When problems arise, write them down on paper and try to come up with as many solutions as you possibly can. Include everything you think of, no matter how silly or impractical. Chances are you’ll eventually come up with an idea, or a combination of ideas, that will work for you.

Keep a journal or diary — not for publication, just for yourself. Writing down a problem and its possible solutions in essay format encourages logic, clarity, and organization.

Expand your circle of friends and explore new activities, especially those that are not within your everyday routine. If you sit at a desk all day, involve yourself with and outdoor activity. If you’re involved in manual labor, give yourself some quiet reading time or listen to calming music.

Ask yourself every day: What can I invest in my mind today? What can I do today to contribute to my having a healthier and happier life?

Money

Money may be the husk of many things, but not the kernel. It brings you food, but not the appetite; medicine, but not health; acquaintances, but not friends; servants, but not faithfulness; days of joy, but not peace or happiness.
